Tiger Stripes // This Man [Get Physical Music]

This Man comes in four guises on this EP from Get Physical. It’s a trip back in time here with loads of lovely 80s throwback moments on the three Tiger Stripes interpretations present. Plenty clap fills, plenty rising strings, tom fills and super addictive sample elements thrown in.

We’re straight to the nightclub when we play the Adana Twins Thursday Disco Vox remix, which is the more restrained of the three, while Tiger Stripes own Day and Night Versions ramp up the ante with furious straight percussion on the 16s – it was looking like I was going to have difficulty choosing between these as my favourite.

However, this decision was taken completely out of my hands upon hearing the mind-melting brilliance of the M.A.N.D.Y vs Lopazz Edit. Jesus, does this rock or what? I’ve played this out the past two weeks and it’s turned every head in every location – a cast iron smash. Taking the catchiest elements from the three versions to create a ‘best-of’ version – remixing at its best.

It sounds fun, fantastic and full of joy, whilst being a complete monster at the drops. Just watch the crowd go wild at the first bass drop, then again when the vocal drops in – fantastic. A dream-record to have in the box and a MUST for 2012.
