SHA Podcast present Robin & Michael
Tonight SHA present an Edinburgh tag team, Robin MacDonald and Michael Notarangelo, occasionally known as Rob Da Mic. You can get the lowdown on the guys below but if you happen to be in Edinburgh this evening you can catch them in action at Karnival where they will be supporting Popof.
Robin MacDonald & Michael Notarangelo
Starting in April 2011 this unknown pair supported Radio 1’s Jaymo and Andy George at Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms which soon after saw them take on their first residency at It’s All Good. After a successful summer period playing at nights such as Distracted, Elements and Electrosex they picked up a residency at Mondo Loco. Soon after Michael and Robin were asked to play for Karnival and were taken on as the newest residents playing every month at Cabaret Voltaire.
Part of their success stems from their variation in styles; Robin is an avid lover of deep house taking inspiration from Hot Natured, Crosstown Rebels and Visionquest. Whereas Michael finds harmony in tech house and techno from the likes of Koen Groeneveld, Pleasurekraft and Stefano Noferini. This allows the duo to have a widely varied music collection so they can suit any club night to their style.
The future looks good for Robin and Michael; they have both started producing their own music and will soon be incorporating their own creations into their sets. It is evident that we will be seeing a lot more of these two in 2012 and their aim is to focus on their current residencies and see what this year has to offer.
