Based in Edinburgh but originally hailing from the North East of England, Kirk Douglas is steadily gaining a reputation as a credible DJ and Producer. Starting off as most dj’s do with a set of turntables, a few tunes and the will to get out there, he built up his collection from labels such as Subliminal, CR2 and Alphabet City. Kirk then broadened his musical horizons and developed a taste not just for proper house music, but for everything electronica. From house to techno his tastes vary picking up influence from the likes of Silver Network, One Records, Vision Quest, Culprit, Leftroom, Crosstown Rebels, and dj’s such as Steve Bug, Jef K, Jozif, Jamie Jones, Craig Richards and the list goes on.
After a year or so playing small underground nights in and around Edinburgh and Newcastle , he was soon recognised as someone who has a passion for what he does and in 2009 Derek Martin of MUSIKA in Edinburgh offered him a residency which seen Kirk support the likes of Luciano, M.A.N.D.Y, Nic Fancuilli, Eric Prydz, Reboot plus many more.

In 2010 things picked up pace each month supporting some of the Worlds biggest dj’s and gaining more and more knowledge and experience as he goes while also crafting his sounds and giving his best. This has made Kirk one of the strongest and recognised dj’s on the Edinburgh circuit featuring in the National paper, The Daily Record as one of their dj’s to watch out for.
2010 also saw the birth of Souloco at The Cabaret Voltaire,a night co-promoted by Kirk and 5 close friends to showcase the more underground side of house that Edinburgh was lacking. Right from the start Souloco proved to be a success which seen the club packed out on a regular basis with only a resident line up.
2011 has been one Kirk’s busiest years and has seen him support more of the idols that drove him to where he is now. Jamie Jones, Maya Jane Coles, Julio Bashmore, Catz n Dogz, Jozif and Maceo Plex at Musika plus Souloco going from strength to strength featuring guests Craig Smith, Burnski, Jozif and Subb-an. Every party is a huge party and Kirk is thriving under it. 2012 is upon us and things are set to only get bigger with Musika and Souloco lining up some massive nights, Kirk also has a new residency to look forward to at Bixon.
