fourfourfun has been blending together series of repetitive beats since the early 90’s, a well grounded foundation in house music that helped him win the Mixcloud.com / Strictly Rhythm / Native Instruments competition in 2011. Don’t doubt the credentials of an unfamiliar DJ name or unusual track selections, this is someone who knows the artistry of layering tracks in natural selection.

fourfourfun started out as a guest DJ for SHA, with some memorable prog-tech outings, before being invited onto the team after discovering that he not only pieces music together in an unusual fashion, but words too. 2011’s SHA mix, titled The Way Life Goes, saw the SHA brand fire to the top of the Podomatic charts, striking a chord with a timeless blend of emotional electronics.
January’s mix sees the BPMs and purpose is upped from last years deep and retro journey into a more technoid and mechanical monster. There is more than a hint of TB303 and every track is lovingly pieced together with scalpel accuracy for your pleasure, from smooth bliss to Berghain-esque beats and a Detroit edged polish.
