Its Saturday which means it a podcast day and we have a treat for you today in the form of Dutch duo Zweistein. Zweistein are the combination of producers Adjust and Diablo and also the brains behind Cosmic Disco Records and we think when you check out the tracklist below, that this is one podcast you wont want to miss. ZWEISTEIN

How did the live act Zweistein come about?
We’ve created the live duo Zweistein after we did our first release on the newly formed label Cosmic Disco Records in 2011, with tracks by Adjust (Willem de Poorter) and a remix of Latin Stranger by Diablo (Daniel Englisch). Because our history, styles and sounds are so close to eachother, we decided to create some music together and put out some trax under the name of Zweistein.

We had our first live interaction on the Amsterdam Dance Event in 2011 combining live elements using Ableton Live with decks and fx, wich also prooved to be working very well for us. Fastforwarding to 2012 we’ve allready created quite a following, some great reviews and support from the dj communty, including Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Richie Hawtin, François Kevorkian and many others.

Where can we find you playing in the near future?
A label night together with Echonomist is planned for April 14th 2012 and we’ll be touring the clubs and festivals in Europe this summer.
In addition, we are hosting our own radio show every first Monday of the month on Deepinradio.com.

What is in the pipeline for the label this year?
19-04-2012 is the launch of our new EP, Summer Essentials. It is a various artist release with tracks by Adjust, Zweistein, Carloscres & Gusher, Black Motif and Antony PL (Neurotraxx). The release already received support from amongst others, Roger Sanchez, Sunshine Jones and Echonomist.

We are receiving many demo’s and at the moment we are sorting them out for upcoming releases. Our own productions will appear on other labels as well.

About Zweistein:

Daniel started his dj career in the early nineties playing house, what in that time consisted of a much broader range of dance music than today, ranging from deep house all the way to techno. This is exactly what he’s doing today with his productions, live and dj sets, combining the new with elements of the past building from the deepest of sounds towards tech euphoria. He played at big festivals like dance valley, new frontier and Wooferland, in Dutch clubs like Mazzo (rip), Melkweg, Paradiso, Pand14, ware house parties and in countries like Israel, Croatia, China and more. In 1997 he started producing his own tracks and had an electronic live act with 4 of his best friends called Solid Fundamental, while at the same time organising techno parties with Ziv Avriel and Juriaan, followed up by the introduction of Defuse Records in 2009. With Cosmic Disco Records and Zweistein he’s able to explore his deeper shades of house again, albeit taking it to the tech side of house too.

Willem also started in the early days infected with acid house. He made a switch to techno and electro back in ’94 and played on festivals and numerous clubs, mainly in the south of Holland sharing the stage with artists like Aril Brikha and Joey Beltram. He organised many parties, with great succes. After a decade of playing fierce techno, he was after a new challenge in music and went back to his roots, playing deeper and more musical tunes with the warmth and feel of the good old days of house. At the same time he started producing his own tracks with that same flavour, brought him to perform internationally too and was booked in countries like Greece and France.

Both guys joined forces after Willem invited Daniel to come and do a live set @ a festival in Eindhoven and sending each other’s tracks back and forth on Soundcloud, it can be a great tool! This is where Cosmic Disco Records started off in the summer of 2011.
