Perched on the water’s edge of Ibiza’s trendy Playa D’en Bossa beach, Sands Beach Bar and Restaurant has always held a magnetic attraction for residents and visitors who appreciate the best in music, food and island drinks. Renovated over the winter by the new owners – Carl Cox, Lynn Cosgrave of Safehouse Management and Jason Bull of Es Vivé Hotel – Sands is in full swing this summer with a scorching line-up and the launch of its new culinary event, Chefs on Tour. Not surprisingly, Carl has mixed up a musical cocktail of global talent guaranteed to quench your thirst for island sounds and make it impossible to sit still. “We want everything at Sands to radiate with positive energy – the food, the music, the service and the people,” says Lynn Cosgrave. “With the new changes we are introducing, we hope Sands will become the place people meet to share in the free spirit and open mindedness that we love about Ibiza. Everybody is welcome!”
Sands is cookin’ on Ibiza this summer
Sands won’t just be showcasing the world’s best DJs under the sun. They will also be unveiling a brand new dinner service concept – ‘Chefs on Tour’: Five stellar British chefs will launch the first season, including Andy Needham, head chef of London’s award winning Michelin Star restaurant, Zafferano; Simon Wadham, head chef at London’s Rivington Grill Shoreditch and Greenwich; Paul Wadham, chef at Hotel Tresanton in St. Mawes, Cornwall; Tim Payne, chef at the London Paradise Pub and former executive chef on ITV’s Hell’s Kitchen and acclaimed chocolatier Damian Allsop, owner of Damian Allsop Chocolates. Tim Payne has the opening slot from 26 July – 4 August and has already announced a Balearic inspired menu that reflects his innovative and exuberant style, starting with a chilled squash & ginger soup; carpaccio of beef with tapenade confit tomatoes, rocket & parmesan; roast fillet of wild halibut, pomme puree, girolle mushrooms & broad beans, crowned with poached figs in port & spices, vanilla ice cream. Booking early is recommended, as seating is limited for these memorable dinner events.

Carl fans will be happy to hear that he plans to hang out at Sands more than ever this summer and lucky for all – he has invited lots of old friends to hit the decks with or without him. A date not to be missed is, of course, the opportunity to congratulate Carl personally at his special Sands birthday party on Monday, 30 July with special guests TBA soon. There is nothing quite like a Sands party – everybody dancing with the gorgeous white sands of Ibiza between their toes or swaying to the rhythm from the comfort of a private daybed. World famous DJs dressed down for a day of spinning on the beach. And smiling people everywhere. According to Lynn: “Walking into Sands feels a bit like coming home, even if it’s your first time there. Whether you’re sipping a cocktail or a Coke, relaxing after a night dancing or gearing up for the evening’s adventure, stop by and share the vibe.”
