Martin Eyerer’s ‘Bells a Go’ will hit the spot with a spread of tracks for differing Dj and clubber types over this four-tracker – ‘types’, you say..?
Well, you have ‘The Youngster’ – which is the Original Mix and can safely be described as relentless with a heart-shattering, single note kick and bass underpinning the tekked–out arrangement. The vicious repetitiveness will definitely fire-up those who throw themselves excitedly at bass-bins at every opportunity.
The ‘Bora Bora’ – or more commonly known as the Homme & Popoviciu Remix. A nice, if not unexpected, arrangement where the subtle-pads, gentle bass and bongos carry things along. A little more harshness in the production, where the corners are a little too smoothed out for me, would keep me engaged. This is certainly happy people, sunglasses at the ready stuff in this non confrontational sonic diversion.
The ‘Slightly Scared but Won’t Let-on’ Mix – or Bushwacka! Just Be Remix, if you will. This steps up and urgently rolls up it’s sleeves to fire out a bassline that is so subbed, you’ll definitely find it claustrophobic and chest-tightening on bigger systems. Add to that a tidy arrangement, with lots of precisely placed (and jaggily uncomfortable) elements (hello vocals) and you’ll be scratching your skin thoughout, throwing fleeting glances and friends and fiends alike.
And finally, there’s the ‘I’m Loving this!’ – where Sascha Sonido OWNs the room in his remix. Big sound, super-wide production and a pitch-perfect, dynamic, arrangement means this’ll be smashing rooms for months ahead. Big tribal beats, trashy hats, gnawing synths, and vocals that are used perfectly to tie the track together. It’s impossible not to love and irresistible stuff when the breaks drop (especially when some distortion is splashed about in there too). Brilliant.
