Mark Wells & Tom Brady // Reality [Savoir Faire]
Back when I started writing for SHApodcast, a Savoir Faire release in my hands was often coupled with a “there is this one really good remix…” inclination. Staying true to form, I present the Desos remix of Mark Wells & Tom Brady’s Reality!
In this instance, Mark & Tom, Soul Sway and Echofusion lay out their cards on the table – each displaying a hand of perky and interchangeable deep House, bordering on the more techy side of things – however, Desos rolls in with a royal flush of remix to sweep away the competition.
By taking the tempo down a notch, infusing the beats with a dirty earthyness and adding a distant reverbed metallic grind – which hovers just behind the main soundstage – Desos has worked absolute wonders. The vocal takes on a certain dramatic plea, bolstered by a melancholic scatter of vague melody and subtle texture. So utterly simple and so utterly perfect, this is the one to be heading for with the others making up the numbers.
