DJ Dove // Come On (Ralph Lawson’s 2020 Vision Remix) [MN2S]

This deep bomb has been sitting on my playlists all summer and it really is a gem of a track.

With no sign of the original anywhere, I can only assume that New York veteran of Suburban Records Dove has produced a soulful house or garage track. I can also deduce from the sheer quality of his remix that Ralph Lawson found plenty to smile about when producing this slice of sunshine.

It has all the required main room production credentials while sounding like a piece of spiritual Body and Soul from that 98-99 era of particular amazing-ness. This was a period when Joe Claussell reinterpreted the Ten City back catalogue to devastating effect for Ibadan Records, particularly on “All Loved Out”. To compare this with such a classic is praise of the highest order, but that is precisely what we have here.

A must-hear dub soul journey that is surely going to be one of a fave of 2012. Ten whole mesmerising minutes of real house from a Leeds-based legend who knows.
